Grace Church: Glorifying God, Growing disciples, Giving others hope
Listen to messages

up and down arrows Messages are listed from oldest at the top of the page to newest at the bottom. Click on the arrows to quickly get to the bottom of the page or the top. Click the Back button on your browser or the Backspace key on your keyboard to go back to where you were in the page.

You can listen to the Sunday messages using the Flash player that appears in a new page when you click the "Listen to message" link below the message title. The link text shows the message length in minutes along with the MP3 file size in megabytes (MB).

With a Flash player, the sound should start in a few seconds. It may take longer for dial-up. If you have a dial-up Internet connection plugged into your phone line, we recommend clicking the Flash player to start it and then click again to pause it. Wait 5 minutes (Go empty the dishwasher or take out the garbage.) and then click the Flash player to resume playing. This gives the Flash player time to download some of the sound so it will play continuously.

Image of Grace Church Flash Player To start one of the Flash players, click on the "Play" button (right arrow). When you place your mouse over the Flash player, you will see the message time in minutes. (If you have Microsoft Windows and the Microsoft Updates that became available in April 2008 weren't installed, you must click the Flash player twice when using Internet Explorer.)

Image of Grace Church Flash Player Pause button To pause the message, click the Flash player Pause button (double bars). The Flash player continues to download the message while it is paused.

If you can't see the Flash players (See the image above.) under the sermon titles, you will need Adobe Flash Player. (In the future we will make this clearer on the sermon pages.) Click the button below to download it so you can listen to the messages. If you have further problems, contact the webmaster using our contact page. (Click the Webmaster radio button on the contact form to select the webmaster.)

Click to download Adobe Flash Player CAUTION: When downloading Adobe products, uncheck the "Free Google Toolbar" check box and any other check boxes for options that you do not want before you click the Download button.

To hear a message in your default MP3 player such as Windows Media Player or Apple QuickTime, click the MP3 link below the message title to go to a new page with a Flash player and a link for downloading the MP3 file. To save the message on your PC, right-click the MP3 link on the download page and choose the Save Target option on Internet Explorer or Save Link option on FireFox. The MP3 files are large, between 10 and 20 MB, so expect a long download time. The download page shows the MP3 file size in megabytes (MB).

We generate our MP3 messages with a variable bit rate codec sampling at 44.1 kHz in order to preserve as much sound detail as possible but still keep the file size small. Because we use a variable bit rate, Windows Explorer and Windows Media Player may show shorter times, erroneous sampling frequencies, and incorrect bit rates for the MP3 files. The Flash players on the message pages show the correct message time.
